Black Skimmers come to Martha’s Vineyard
2012 was the first year Black Skimmers nested successfully on Martha’s Vineyard. I photographed the birds from their arrival, to nesting, to fledging of young birds. The Skimmers are spectacular birds with unique physiology and behavior. ENJOY. ( PS the early nesting pictures were the original images confirming the first Skimmers breeding on the Vineyard. )
